Company withdraws money before RTO freezes bank accounts to recover Rs 43 million taxes

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) Lahore, on Friday, froze the bank account of Press LPG Private Limited to recover the income tax liability of Rs 43 million for the year 2012-13 but its account balance was zero.

Sources told Customs Today that recovery team of the RTO reached bank to freeze the account of the said company but failed to recover the tax even by freezing the account due to the insufficient balance. They added that the accused company has allegedly withdrawn its entire amount with the connivance of Allied Bank Limited Temple Road Branch Manager Rabia Anayatullah and Operation Manager Amir Abdullah.
