RTO-I starts audit of non-profit organizations

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started audit of three non-profit organizations, it is learnt.

According to the details, the RTO-I is conducting audit of M/s Hashmat Majeed Mian Trust, Advance Healthcare Trust and Zaibun Nisa Hospital which are functioning as non-profit organizations.

Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) Tanvir Hussain Bhatti directed his staff to conduct the audit in very transparent manners and submit their report according to the law.

Sources informed Customs Today that these organizations are registered as non-profit organizations and earning a huge profit. Now FBR decided to take action against these organizations and if some irregularities found in their tax statements then their tax exemption certificates will be cancelled.
