RTO-II holds CREST training workshop to improve sales tax collection

LAHORE: Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) has held a workshop on Computerised Risk-Based Evolution of Sales Tax (CREST) to brief all staff and officials about CREST to improve sales tax collection.

All commissioners Inland Revenue, additional commissioner, deputy commissioners and assistant commissioner participated in the workshop. During the workshop, the officials were given practical training on the functioning of CREST. In the workshop, discrepancies in system had also been detected.

It is necessary to mention here that CREST is software to detect sales tax defaulters and provides tools to improve sales tax collection.

Chief Commissioner Khawaja Adnan Zaheer ordered all the officers to ensure fruitful use of CREST and increase sales tax collection. In the workshop case sales tax laws also discussed. The updated version of CREST provided by FBR to Regional Tax Office-II few weeks ago.
