RTO-II holds workshop on CREST to improve sales tax collection

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) held a workshop on Computerised Risk-based Evolution of Sales Tax (CREST) to brief all the staff and officials about CREST to improve sales tax collection. Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) and Project Director CREST Asim Majid Khan was the focal person at the workshop.

All commissioners Inland Revenue of Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II), additional commissioners, deputy commissioners and assistant commissioner and unit officers participated in the workshop. During the workshop, the officials were given practical training on the functioning of CREST.

It is necessary to mention here that CREST is software to detect sales tax defaulters and provides tools to improve sales tax collection.

Chief Commissioner Khawaja Adnan Zaheer ordered all the officers to ensure fruitful use of CREST and increase sales tax collection. In the workshop cases involving sales tax laws were also discussed. The updated version of CREST provided by FBR to Regional Tax Office-II few weeks ago.
