RTO-II issues final notices to six companies on not depositing sales tax

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) has issued final notices to six companies of Muneer Group of Companies on not depositing the sales tax.

Sources said that Muneer Group is running as many as 13 companies, which are big taxpayers. In running year, the tax returns of only seven companies were submitted, while the group sought some time to file the returns of other companies that have not been filed yet even after lapsing of one month.

Therefore, the RTO-II issued notice to the six companies named Muneer Dyeing, Shama Embroidery and Export, Raheela Garments, Muneeba Traders, Jabri & Co and Haroon Textile directing them to file tax returns within 14 days.

It may mention here that the department collected Rs 128.7 million in wake of tax from these companies during last fiscal year.
