Lahore RTO-II collects Rs 2.7 billion up to Feb 18, heads toward achieving 100pc target

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-II has achieved 60 percent target of February.
As per available data, RTO-II has collected almost Rs 2.7 billion up to February 18 that is equal to the collections of last month during corresponding period. RTO-II has set the target of Rs 5.1 billion for February 2015.
Authorities said that RTO-II will meet its target for current fiscal year 2014-15 that is almost Rs 61 billion. They informed that RTO-II Lahore has achieved 99 percent of required target Rs 35,499 million during June-January for current fiscal year 2014-15.
The RTO-II had estimated to collect Rs 35,499 million from June 2014 to January 2015. As per provisional statistics, it has collected almost Rs 35,140 million that was nearly two percent less than the set target.
The FBR has not revised the revenue target for the regional offices and directed them to achieve the target as much as possible. They added that FBR usually revise the target almost every year to cover the shortfalls. They said FBR could get more revenue by completing the audit work of pending cases.
