RTO-II recovers Rs 12.6m from two tax defaulter companies

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) of the Federal Board Revenue (FBR) has recovered Rs 12.6 million in wake of sales tax from two companies.

As per details, Al-Rehman Fabrics and Export was not paying taxes since long on which the RTO issued notices to the company but no any response was received. A team of officials visited the company to check the production but the owners claimed that factory was not functional for long ago.

The officials investigated the matter and checked the documents. During investigations, it was revealed that company was making production on other place in order of avoid taxes. The officials issued notice of Rs 8 million that was recovered after four days.

In another action, the official recovered Rs 4.6 million from Najmi Steel and Iron works. The company had showed less income in the tax returns to avoid taxes.
