RTO-II seizes bank accounts of Karachi Water Board

KARACHI: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has seized all bank accounts of the Karachi Water Board on not paying Rs 1 billion taxes.

Sources said that the Water Board was issued many notices to pay the taxes but it did not responded to any notice; therefore the FBR taking legal action has seized all its bank accounts.

The sources said that tax recovery has been expedited as the last quarter of the fiscal year has just started. They added that the FBR was taking action against not only individual but also officials departments to recover outstanding taxes.

They further said that outstanding taxes which were to pay by water board will be recovered by attaching all bank accounts.
