RTO issues Rs 2 billion tax notice to Capital Development Authority

ISLAMABAD: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued tax recovery notice amounting to Rs 2 billion to the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Assistant Commissioner Regional Tax Office Farrukh Amir Siyal told Customs Today that RTO authorities are  conducting audit of tax statements filed by CDA. During the scrutiny of the documents, it was revealed that an amount of Rs 2 billion is still outstanding against Capital Development Authority. Prior to this, the FBR recovered Rs 1.2 billion after freezing the bank accounts of the CDA. After this, the CDA filed a complaint before federal Ombudsman.
