KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee depreciated against the US dollar in open market and remained steady in interbank.
As per the local currency market, the greenback gained 35 paisas in open market to reach 104.85 and remained unchanged in interbank at 104. On Wednesday, the dollar gained 10 paisas to close at Rs103.80 for buying and Rs 104 for selling. The dollar closed at Rs 104.50 in the open currency market.
The rates in the open currency market would climb in near future due to an upward trend in the interbank market on hajj, oil payments and demand from exporters.
