Russia, Austria, Ukraine trade drop 48.7% y/y in Q1 2015

MOSCOW: Foreign trade between Austria and Russia/Ukraine dropped y/y in Q1 2015, exports to Russia slipped by 39.8 percent, while imports from Russia fell 48.7 percent to EUR 0.4 billion, preliminary figures of Statistik Austria indicate.

The imports from Ukraine fell by 31.5 percent, while exports dropped 55.9 percent to EUR 71 million.

Austria exports in total were up 0.7 percent y/y in Q1, while imports increased by 0.3 percent.

This means the trade deficit has decreased slightly y/y.

Trade with other EU member states shrank, while imports and exports to third countries climbed considerably.

In the first three months of 2015 Austria exported goods worth EUR 31.7 billion, of which EUR 21.9 billion.
