Salaries, pensions of KMC staff disbursed

KARACHI: The salaries of the staff of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) as well as the pension to retirees have been disbursed.

This was announced by Administrator Karachi, Roshan Ali Shaikh, on Saturday while addressing departmental heads at Civic Centre.

He said that the bills of contractors and other expenditures were held up so that the salaries to the staff as well as pension to the retirees could be disbursed on time.

However, the bills for the food for the animals have been released.

The Administrator said that the development works would not be affected as payments would be made when there is improvement in the situation.

He directed that the details of the accounts of all departments of the KMC be submitted and no account of any department be kept hidden. Action would be initiated in case of non-submission of the details of accounts.

All the departments have been directed to submit the details of the accounts by 2 pm on Monday.

The Administrator called for removal of encroachments from the business centres in the city.

He also directed that the traffic wardens be deployed to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

A drive against encroachments would be started from 20th of Ramazan and would continue till the night of Eid ul Fitr.
