Sales tax evasion: Punjab Revenue Authority seals marriage hall in DHA

LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority sealed marriage halls due to sales tax evasion in Defense Housing Authority.

According to sources, Punjab Revenue Authority is once again started action against marriage halls which are involved in sales tax evasion on services. On Monday a team of Punjab Revenue Authority under the supervision of assistant commissioner Kashif Nawaz raided in different areas and checked many marriage halls in different locations of the city.

Assistant Commissioner Kashif Nawaz sealed a marriage hall and also issued warning to a banquet hall owners on their alleged involvement in evasion of taxes. PRA also sealed three marriage halls on Saturday as well in different areas.

ON Monday PRA sealed marriage halls in Defense housing Society named DHA Events.

Assistant Commissioner Kashif Nawaz told to media persons that department will not spare any marriage hall and restaurants which are earning in millions but not paying a single penny to the national treasury. Action will be continued against defaulter and tax evaders in coming days he added.
