SEOUL: Samsung Electronics has released details of its upcoming newest CSC, the NX500.Many of advanced features are same as of NX1 in a consumer-orientated body.
Equipped with a 28-megapixel BSI APS-C sensor and DRIMeV image processor, the NX500 includes the same NX AF system III as the NX1 and also offers similar Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth connectivity. It also supports both 4K and UHD video recording using the efficient HEVC /H.265 codec and allows frame grabbing of still images from video clips. Still images captured from Interval Capture mode can easily be converted into a UHD Time-lapse video directly on the camera. The DRIMeV processor enables continuous shooting at nine frames/second and the NX500 includes the Samsung Auto Shot function, which uses motion detection to accurately predict when to trigger the shutter for action shots.
The palm-sized NX500 includes a Tilt-and-Flip-up monitor for self-portraits but lacks a built-in viewfinder. The screen uses SuperAMOLED technology and has a resolution of 1.04 million dots. The camera body is almost identical to other consumer-level NX models with no dials other than a mode dial and a cluster of buttons around the arrow pad. It measures 119.5 x 63.6 x 42.5mm, with a body weight of 287 grams. The NX500 will be manufactured in Black, White, and Brown. It will be available globally starting in March 2015.
