Sara-i-Muhajir ASO impounds non duty paid Hino truck

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sara-i-Muhajir confiscated a non duty paid Hino truck worth Rs 1.7 million involving duties and taxes amounting to Rs 2 million.

Sources told Customs Today, that Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad received a tip off that a vehicle was being smuggled. He immediately constituted a team which intercepted intercepted foreign origin Hino truck bearing registration No GLTD-3637 Gilgat near M.M Alam road and asked the driver Muhammad Khalid to produce documents regarding the legal possession of the truck but he failed to do so on which customs team impounded the vehicle under Section 157 (2) of Customs Act 1969.
