Sara-i-Muhajir FIU impounds huge quantity of smuggled goods

MIANWALI: The Custom Intelligence and Investigations Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sara-i-Muhajir confiscated miscellaneous items old and used glasses 7500 pieces, solar fan 65 pieces, cigarettes 200,000, cigarettes, small cardamom 200-Kgs.

Sources told Customs Today, Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Syed Ittrat Hussain received information about some smuggling attempts.

He immediately constituted a raiding party comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Saleem, Ansar Saleemi, Khalid Ahmed, Muhammad Ashraf Sajjad Ahmed, Muhammad Anwar (sepoys) and Muhammad Shahbaz (driver).

The FIU team intercepted a trailer bearing registration no: PT-0021 near Mainwali Toll Plaza which was coming from Peshawar.

The FIU team asked accused person Muhammad Ismail to produce legal documents regarding possession of above said items but they failed to provide the same.

After their failure FIU team seized the item and registered a case of smuggling against the owner of the goods.
