Sara-i-Muhajir FIU impounds non-duty paid Hino oil tanker

SARA-I-MUHAJIR: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sarai Muhajir impounded a non-duty paid Hino oil tanker 6 wheeler bearing registration no: MHS-16-373 worth Rs6 million.

Sources told Customs Today, that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received a tip off about some non-duty paid vehicles. He constituted a a team comprising Superintendent Tahir Iqbal, Sepoy Anser Saleemi, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Aslam, Sepoy Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Usman Iqbal and Fakhar Abbas.

The FIU team intercepted the Hino oil tanker near Sara-i-Muhajir chowk. The team asked the possessor of the vehicle identified as Javed Iqbal son of Ghulam Rasool to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle but he failed to do so.

The FIU Sarai Muhajir team impounded the truck and items and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for legal proceeding.
