SARA-I-MUHAJIR: Collectorate of Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) seized foreign origin fine quality fabric worth Rs4.7 million.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Anti Smuggling Organization received credible information that huge quantity of foreign origin fine fabrics was being smuggled from Karachi to Sara-i-Muhajir. On receiving the information the ASO constituted a special team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamdani to thwart this attempt.
The special team intercepted Hundai Shahzore and recovered fine fabrics and asked the owner namely Fawad Ali to show documents regarding import of the cloth but he remained failed on the spot.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ASO has forward a seizure report to Customs adjudication for further legally action.
