FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sarai Muhajir of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has took into possession a Non-Duty-Paid Hino truck with registration No: TKR-275 Quetta valued at Rs5million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs2.9million.
Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received a tip-off about a Non-Duty-Paid vehicle plying on the roads. He constituted a team comprising of M Tahir Iqbal, Superintendent, Mansoor Nasir, Adnan Ahmed Chandio, Anser Saleemi, Intelligence Officers (IO) and Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Usman Iqbal and Fakhar Abbas, sepoys.
The FIU team intercepted the said truck near Chowk Sarai Muhajir, district Bhakkar. The team asked the possessor of the vehicle, identified as Arshad Hussain son of Manzoor Hussain, a resident of Rajanpur, for producing the legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle but he failed to do so.
The FIU team took the truck and items into possession and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for legal proceeding.
