Sargodha ASO impounds Toyota Hiace van worth Rs 1.6m

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Sargodha has impounded a foreign origin used Toyota Hiace van worth Rs 1.6 million involving duty/tax amounting to Rs 874,240.

As per details, Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan received information that a Toyota Hiace van has been brought into the country through an unauthorised route without payment of duty and taxes.

After receiving the information, Muhammad Rizwan constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspectors Bashir Ahmed, Anser Saleemi, Mehar Ameer Ali, Sepoys Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Iqbal, Hafiz Naseer Ahmad, Muhammad Shafqat Mehmood, Sardar Hussain and Muhammad Mansha.

The ASO team intercepted the vehicle bearing Registration No C-1100 near Sargodha General Bus Stand and asked owner of the vehicle, who was identified as Ehsanullah to produce documents regarding import of the vehicle but the owner failed to provide the same. Upon his failure, the ASO team impounded the vehicle and registered a case against him.
