Sargodha ASO impounds used jeep worth Rs01.2m

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has impounded a foreign origin (F/O) used Seira Jimni jeep, Model 1984, in Sargodha. The market value of the seized vehicle is Rs01.2million while involving customs duty and taxes of Rs616440.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan got a tip-off that a smuggled vehicle is being brought into the country through an unauthorized route and without payment of duty and taxes.

Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan constituted a raiding team comprising Sepoys Bashir Ahmed, Bashir Hussain, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Iqbal, Hafiz Nasir Ahmed, Mazhar Ranjha.

The ASO team intercepted the vehicle with registration No: LEI-15A-5422 near Bhalwal Road Sargodha and asked the driver of the vehicle to produce the legal documents regarding the import of the vehicle but he failed to do so. The name of the driver is Nadeem Khan. The ASO team impounded the vehicle and registered a case against him.
