Sargodha ASO seizes smuggled foreign origin auto parts

SARGODHA: The Ant- Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized huge quantity of foreign origin auto parts. The market value of the seized auto parts is Rs22,7,0000 involving customs duty and taxes worth Rs 462000.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Mirza Mubashir Baig received information regarding smuggling of foreign origin new auto parts. Soon after receiving the information he constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Shoaib, Inspector Muhammad Irfan, Mumtaz Mehmood, Ahmed Dogar,  Havaldars Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Mansha and Sepoy Hafiz Naseer Ahmed, Shafqat Mahmood.

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no: LEI-7670 model 1982. During the cursory examination the foreign origin auto parts were found including LTV auto stud 6 cylinder diesel engine for LTV with gear box and all slandered accessories 2 unit front cut with all accessories, LTV 250 kilograms fuel tank for LTV, 2 unit Car door complete 15 unit, steering plates 50 kilograms and others.

They driver of the vehicle who was later identified as Aurangzeb son of Sikandir provided three GDs on the spot which were found irrelevant. Therefore, the smuggled goods were seized into customs custody and brought to State Warehouse. The Customs team seized the spare parts and registered a case against the accused persons.
