SBP issues directives to NBP regarding tax collection on 29th, 30th

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan has issued directions regarding collection of duties & taxes by the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on June 29, 30.

According to directives issued by the SBP, in pursuance of the request of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the following instructions regarding government banking business on June 29 & 30 may be complied with.

On June 29 (Friday), NBP branches (A, B & C), as well as field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation (BSC), shall accept banking instructions and cash at their counter up to 06:00pm and 08:00pm respectively, A Special Clearing shall be arranged by the NIFT at 06:00pm and NBP shall settle the transactions with SBP BSC field offices/head office till 11:00pm in same day ie June 29. 2018.

On June 30 (Saturday), NBP branches (A, B & C), as well as field offices of the SBP Banking Service Corporation, shall remain open only for collection of FBR taxes/government receipts up to 10:00pm. A s=Special Clearing shall be arranged by the NIFT at 11:00 pm and NBP shall settle the transactions with SBP BSC field offices shall not execute any payment out of government accounts except such payments as they relate to payment of FBR taxes and duties out of one government account to another government account.
