Islamabad Customs collects Rs6,892m CD during FY17-18

ISLAMABAD: Customs Collectorate achieved the revenue collection target two days before the end of current fiscal year 2017-18. Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary extended felicitations to entire team of Customs department for achieving target.

Sources told Customs Today that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had assigned Rs6,845 million revenue collection target under the head of customs duty (CD) for fiscal year 2017-18. Sources said that the Collectorate collected Rs6,982 million during the outgoing fiscal year, Rs9,735 million were collected under the head of sales tax against the target of Rs52,89 million, Rs3,631 million were collected against the target of Rs2,978 under the head of income tax. The Collectorate collected Rs610 million against the assigned target of Rs475 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED).

Sources further said that Customs Collectorate deposited Rs20,959 million against the assigned target of Rs15,559 million by FBR in national kitty.

In his felicitation message, Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary thanked Member Customs Zahid Khokhar, Chief Collector North Jawwad Agha for providing guidance and strategy in achieving revenue collection target of fiscal year 2017-18.
