SC seeks report from CDA on relocation of 6 foreign missions’ offices to Diplomatic Enclave

ISLAMABAD: The apex court has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit a report with regard to the relocation of the offices of six foreign missions to Diplomatic Enclave.

The Supreme Court also directed the counsel of CDA and the petitioner to point out how so many violations have been made in the residential areas of the federal capital.

Headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaja, a bench heard a suo moto case regarding blockades and encroachments made in the name of security in residential areas of the federal capital.

The three-member bench directed the CDA counsel to put on its website details pertaining to the offices established in residential areas of the federal capital by PML-N, PTI, IG, Islamabad and IG motorway police, blocking the streets so that the public could also know about the violations made by them.

During the course of the hearing, Justice Jawwad observed that the civic authority has allocated Diplomatic Enclave for the offices of foreign missions then why the foreign embassies were not shifting their offices to Diplomatic Enclave.
