BERLIN: Germany-based building materials supplier Schuco yesterday opened its first exhibition center in China as it expands into the Chinese residential market from the office building segment.
The 1,355-square-meter center in Shanghai’s Putuo District displays products such as sliding doors, ventilation systems, curtain walls and windows. The center also has a training school to train the company’s customers in how to install its products.
Schuco reaped an annual revenue of up to 1.5 billion euros (US$1.7 billion) globally. Schuco didn’t reveal the Chinese market’s contribution but said sales grew by double digits annually.
With a network of 175 authorized distributors across China, Schuco has supplied materials to a luxury community in the Pudong New Area in Shanghai and the Sunny Bay hotel in Sanya in Hainan Province.
