Senate Committee on Finance reviews budgetary recommendations

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Finance met in Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Saleem H. Mandviwala. The participants of the meeting reviewed in details the recommendations submitted by the members for budget 22016-17.

During the meeting participants reviewed thoroughly Financial Institutions Amendment Bill 2016. This bill is already passed by the National Assembly. Now Senate standing committee has to submit this bill till June 21, 2016. Secretary Finance Waqar Masood informed the meeting that objections which were pointed by Supreme Court of Pakistan will be removed after amendment in the bill.

During the meeting Governor State Bank of Pakistan and secreatry finance gave a comprehensive briefing to participants. Senator Aurangzeb Khan proposed that government should launch “filer card” for those who submitted their tax returns regularly. He said that any filer can use this card for availing facilities at educational institutions, and hospitals. Senator Kamil Ali Agha proposed that entry fee on Quaid mazar should be abolished immediately.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting includes Senator Miss Ayesha Raza Farooq, Saud Majeed, Kamil Ali Agha, Mohsin Aziz, Mohammad Talha Mehmood, Kalsoom Perveen, Aurangzeb Khan, Ilyas Bilour, Mushahidullah Khan, Dr. Jahanzeb Jamaldini and Mohsin Leghari.
