Several smuggling goods taken into possession during 27 days of November

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded several smuggling items including a large number of mobile phones, several non-duty-paid generators, huge quantity of smuggling Iranian origin high speed diesel and other goods worth Rs17.66million during various raids on different areas of Gwadar during 27 days of November.

Sources told reporter that, on the directives of Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Mehmood, operation against smuggled and non-duty-paid luxury vehicles is going on in full swing and several raids have been carried out during previous month of October and 27 days of November.

Sources told CT that Deputy Collector Gwadar constituted a team of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Imran Ali Khan. The team, during a search operation, intercepted a truck bearing registration No: SLD-722 which was going out of the city.

During the raid, the customs team impounded 70 tyres of luxury vehicles and more items. The customs team arrested two smugglers involved in smuggling and registered an FIR against them and started investigations.
