LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the Punjab government would take all possible steps to increase provincial revenue so that maximum funds could be available for public welfare schemes. He said that there was a need for removing flaws in tax collection system.
The Punjab CM was talking to a representative delegation of Mckinsey which called on him here. During the meeting, matters pertaining reformation of tax system and control of line losses were discussed in detail.
Talking to the delegation, the Punjab CM said that there was a vast scope for increasing provincial resources and simplification of tax collection system can greatly help in this regard. He said that reforms were being introduced in tax system in Punjab. Shahbaz Sharif said that additional funds generated through improvement of tax collection system would be utilized for the welfare of the masses. He said that measures proposed by Mckinsey for controlling line losses in the distribution of electricity are of vital importance.
He said that E-stamp papers having security features would soon be introduced. He said that e-governance system was being introduced in all important provincial departments.
He said that record of six districts had been computerized under Land Record Management Information System and the project was being implemented to computerize revenue record of the entire province.
