SHC bars NAB from arresting sons of Khursheed Shah till Oct 16

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Friday granted pre-arrest bail to two sons of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah and alleged frontman in assets beyond means case.

Two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh including Justice Omer Sial heard the petition of bail and ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to refrain from arresting the accused till October 16.

The court accepted the bail of Zeerak and Farrukh Shah and alleged frontman Syed Qasim Ali Shah and ordered the accused to return to the relevant forum till October 16. The court also directed the accused to join the NAB investigation.

On Sept. 18, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) stalwart Syed Khursheed Shah in case pertaining to assets beyond income source.

On Sept. 19, The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided the house of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah in Bani Gala and seized important documents.

The anti-graft watchdog the PPP leader is accused of allotting to himself an amnesty plot illegally from a cooperative society in Sukkur.

On August 7, the anti-graft agency had unearthed more than 105 accounts that led to the PPP senior leader. Shah had opened as many as 105 banks accounts under his and family members’ names in Karachi, Sukkur and other cities.

Further, properties were made in Sukkur, Rohri and Karachi, according to document acquired by the accountability watchdog and it also reveals that Glamour Bungalow, Junejo Flour Mills, Mukesh Flour Mills including 83 other properties were made under Shah’s frontman, Pehlaj Rai.
