KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) disposed-of petition filed by M/s Alpha Scientific Store directed to release goods after payment of duty and taxes.
During the hearing of the case, Aneel Zia Advocate, counsel for the petitioner submitted that an appeal has been preferred against assessment on highest data available.
The counsel pleaded that consignment is incurring storage charges and therefore ad-interim order of released is solicited. He expressed readiness of the petitioner to secure differential amoSunt of duty and taxes before the Nazir of the court.
The bench after brief hearing allowed the request directing the petitioner to secure the amount while department was directed to decide the appeal in accordance with law. The bench with above directions restrained from en-cashing amount of security.
