SHC directs to release goods imported by M/s Faisalabad Oil Refinery after paying disputed amount

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) customs appellate bench directed to release goods imported by M/s Faisalabad Oil Refinery after paying disputed amount of duties and taxes.

During hearing of the case para wise remarks and copy of SCN (show cause notice) was submitted before the bench. Sardar Zafar Hussain and Kashif Nazeer appeared for the other official respondents.

The counsel for petitioner after receiving copy of para wise comment said that in view of issuance of Show Cause Notice, petitioner side seeks ad-interim orders and release of goods against securing disputed amount of duty and taxes and other payables besides security against any fine imposed with the Nazir of SHC.

The bench after hearing the arguments allowing the request disposed off the petition order in that fate of the amounts so deposited and secured shall be subject to the decision in Adjudication proceedings.
