KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has granted post-arrest bail to a suspect in the five cases pertaining to the export of gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-forms.

A single bench of the SHC approved the bail for Kashan Iqbal with surety of Rs100,000 in each case. Kashan Iqbal moved the high court seeking his release after the trial court dismissed his bail.

According to the prosecution, the customs authorities had registered five cases against exporters, including Saani Impex, BD Enterprises, Rubab Corporation, Makkah Enterprises and M/s Reaz Corporation for exporting gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-forms, causing huge losses to the national exchequer.

Wajahat Minhas, Muhammad Zubair, Kashan Iqbal, Hanif Musa, Sajid Abdul Qadir, Muhammad Shahid, and Irfan are in custody. However, accused Muhammad Shakeel, Syed Abdul Qawi, Syed Tahir Hussain and Kamran Siddiqui have been released on bail. Muhammad Tahir, Bilal and Aqeel are still at large.
