SHC issues notice to NAB on bail petition filed by Iqbal Z Ahmed, CEO of M/s PGPCL

KARACHI: A division-bench comprising Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh and Justice Umer Sial issued notices to director general NAB and special prosecutor for NAB department on after arrest bail petition filed by Iqbal Z Ahmed of Pakistan Gas Port Consortium Limited, who is confined in jail due to involvement in money laundering scam before Islamabad NAB Court including Asif Ali Zardari and others.

On October 11, 2019, court also directed DG NAB and others to make ensure filing their para wise comments on next date of hearing, court also directed jail authorized to make arrangement of medical treatment and submit report on next date of hearing.

During the hearing, Aitazaz Ahsan appeared on behalf of Iqbal Z Ahmed and argued that his client is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case, who is also serious patient of difference deceases, therefore court may grant his after arrest bail.

During the hearing, NAB prosecutor argued that accused is booked in mega money laundering and on remand, he submits that NAB has a own medical team and fully prepare for complete treatment and NAB will provide him medical treatment whenever is required.

After the hearing, court issued notices to NAB authority and directed them to file comments.

It needs to be mentioned here that NAB had also issued call-up notice to his son who was arrested in Lahore than moved to Karachi and remanded physical custody form Hyderabad NAB Court.
