SHC orders release of luxury vehicle against security deposit

KARACHI: Sindh High Court of Sindh (SHC) has ordered release of a luxury Range Rover against a security of Rs17.4 million.

An appellate bench of  Sindh High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain heard the case. The bench was hearing a constitutional petition filed by owner of the said vehicle which was seized by the Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Pakistan Customs allegedly for being smuggled one.

Masooda Siraj advocate appearing for the respondent questioned the registration and said petitioner shall come up with import documents in respect of vehicle to establish that it was legally imported and lawfully registered in the country. She submitted the copies of the notice under section 171 of Customs Act 1969.
