The court’s order stated “in case, dispute regarding duties and taxes, the respondents would release the consignment upon ensuing that the differential is deposited with the nazir of this court and detention certificate shall also be issued”.

During the hearing, counsel for the respondents submitted that type approval in detail has been received and had been verified and the consignment would be released today.

In the last hearing, the counsel for the petitioners stated that petitioners’ company Zawah Impex & Company wrote a letter to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Islamabad director and informed it that a container with 71,400 pieces of mobile phones, being 10,200 L1 and 61200 L2 were imported and application for issuance of NOC for clearance of the said consignment was submitted.
