Shipping activity at Karachi ports

KARACHI: Five ships Kota Gemar, Finisterre, Atlantic Muse, APL Sydney and Lahore carrying containers and tankers were berthed at KICT on Friday.

While UASC Khor Fakkan, Hyundai Highness, Ocean Concord, Alpine Moment, Alpine Penolope and COSCO Kawasaki sailed out. Han Zhi, Kota Gemar, Finisterre, Le Chang, UAFL Zanzibar and Lahore were due to depart.

Four ships carrying containers, roro and palm oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 48 hours.

Meanwhile, six ships carrying sunflower seeds, palm oil, containers and cement also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships namely Hammonai Pacificum, New Delhi Express, Christos Theo, Resolve, Beacon-SW, Elini-D and Palchem-I were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, roro, project cargo, wheat and palm oil. A cargo volume of 68,490 tonnes, comprising 39,782 tonnes of import and 28,708 tonnes of export was handled.
