Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Five ships carrying containers, rice, general cargo and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal (QICT), FAP Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively.

Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, cement, chemical and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 65 percent at the Port on Monday where a total seven ships namely Hermess Arrow, Pona, MSC Antalya, Greenery Sea, DA ZI Yun, Bering Sea and Bunga Alllum are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, rice general cargo, crude oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 73870 tonnes comprising 39997 tonnes import and33873 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2199 Containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
