KARACHI: Brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where seven ships CV lioyd Don Carlos, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Castor-N, MV intuition, MT Khankendy, MT Able Sailor, MT Shalamar carrying Containers, Conola seeds, Chemicals, Palm oil and Furnance oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively.
Meanwhile three more ships MT Okyroe, MT Al-Jalaa and MT Liberty-N scheduled to load/offload Containers, crude oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 73% on Sunday were a total of eleven ships namely, CV Lioyd Don Carlos, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Castor-N. MV An African, MV KSL Huayang, MV Da Yo Xia, MV Intuition, MT Khankendy, MT Able Sailor, MT Shalamar were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, General cargo, Canola Seeds, Chemicals, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 113,665 tonnes, comprising 68,977 tonnes imports and 44,688 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,149 Containers (TEUs) (797 TEUs imports & 2,352 TEUS exports) was handled at the Port. Container vessels Liayd Don Carlos and Al-Ghero sailed out to sea Monday, while four more ship, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV Castor-N, MT Khankendy and MV KSL Huayang are expected to sail on same day (today) afternoon.
Four ships CV Jazon, CV MSC Dalma, CV MSC Lisbon and MT Liberty-N carrying Containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday, 13th June-2016. while three more ships CV Northern Magnum. CV Lioyd Don Carlos and MT Ginga Kite are due to arrive of Port Qasim on Tuesday, (June 14).
