LAHORE: Due to shortage of members, the Customs Appellate Tribunal has fixed only two days: Monday and Tuesday, a week to hear the cases.
As per details, two posts of technical and judicial members are vacant that is why it is difficult to hear the cases on daily basis.
Currently, two special benches comprising Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti, Technical Member Khwaja Omer Mehdi and Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem are working.
It is pertaining to mention here that Technical Member Khawaja Omer Mehdi has to work for both benches for hearing the cases.
The two posts were gone vacant after the promotion of Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti and resignation of Imran Tariq.
