Sialkot ASO impounds non-duty paid Prado from GT Road

SIALKOT: Customs Collectorate Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) team impounded a non customs paid duty Prado from GT Road Sambrial the other day.

Sources told Customs Today that Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary received information that some non-duty paid vehicles are plying on the roads which may be used for smuggling.

Soon after receiving the information, he constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Aftab Ahmed to check vehicles. The inspector along with his team started checking of vehicles on GT Road at Sambrial. The Customs team intercepted a Prado which was plying on road without payment of customs duty.

The team asked the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Rafique about documents regarding possession of Prado. But he failed to produce any relevant documents.

The team impounded Prado and shifted it to Customs Warehouse. The team also informed the owner of the vehicle that if will produce documents regarding possession of vehicle within 72 hours then the vehicle will be released otherwise vehicle will be impounded by the name state and case will be forwarded to Customs Adjudication authorities for futher proceedings.

It is necessary to mention here that ASO authorities enhanced their checking in the region to impound vehicles which are plying on roads without legal documents.
