Sialkot ASO recovers smuggled auto parts

SIALKOT: The Anti-Smuggling Organization ( ASO) has seized foreign origin new auto parts in Sialkot city. The market value of the seized auto parts is Rs 50,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Customs Sialkot Palwasha Saeed received information regarding the smuggling of foreign origin new auto parts. The ASO team comprising Deputy Superintendent Irfan, Inspector Muhammad Mansha and other relevant staff took part in the raid.

The ASO team conducted a raid near Circuler Road, and seized 1000 pieces of foreign origin auto part and accused failed to produce legal documents. After their failure, the Customs team seized the spare parts and registered a case against the accused persons.

Therefore, Customs officials seized the auto parts under Import and Export Trade (Control) Act 1950, punishable under Section 156(1), 89 of Customs Act, 1969.
