Sialkot ASO seizes Indian origin red chilli, cloth

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Zone-III has confiscated Indian origin smuggled red chilli and cloth worth Rs 100,000 during an action near Link Road Mandi Bahauddin.

Reportedly, ASO Zone-III incharge Deputy Collector Muhammad Hanif ordered Superintendent Muhammad Naeem Khan to constitute a team to check vehicles at the Link Road in order foil smuggling bids if there are any.

The superintendent constituted a team under the supervision of Inspectors Arshad Hussain Mayo and Muhammad Iftikhar. The team along with constables started checking vehicles on the road where it intercepted a bus which was coming from Bhimbar (AJK).

The team checked the bus and recovered Indian origin red chilli and cloth worth Rs 100,000. The team asked driver Riasat about booking documents of the said items but driver remained fail to show any documents.

The team confiscated the items and shifted to the store of Sialkot Customs. The team registered a case against manager of Bhimbar Bus Stand, while the driver along with bus was released after proper interrogation.
