Sialkot ASO seizes Iranian black tea worth Rs100,000

SIALKOT: Anti Smuggling-Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot has confiscated Iranian origin black tea worth Rs100,000 at Wazirabad during vehicle checking .

Reportedly under the directions of Assistant Collector Chudhary Fahad Bashir the Superintendent Sardar Manzoor constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Aamir while to check vehicles near Wazirabad Road to curb smuggling.

The said Inspector along with his team started checking of vehicles on said road near Railway Bridge. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a van which was coming from Peshawar and going to Sialkot.
While the search of the van the team recovered packets of smuggled black tea worth Rs100,000. The team asked driver Nabi Ullah to provide booking documents of black tea but he was failed to produce any documents.

The driver told team that the smuggled items were loaded from van stand of Peshawar and I don’t know about documents. The team confiscated the black tea and shifted in the store of Sialkot whereas while team released driver after proper interrogation.

The team will send a legal notice to concerned van stand manager as per customs laws and team refer case before adjudication court for proceeding. If the learned court will announce judgment in favor of Sialkot Customs then it will authorize to auction of confiscated black tea as per customs laws and customs act 1969.
