Sialkot ASO seizes Indian orign chilli, cloth

SIALKOT: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered Indian origin red  chilli and cloth worth Rs 800,000 from a truck.

Following the directions of ASO incharge Assistant Collector Zahid Bashir Chaudhary, Inspector Sheikh Muhmmad Ikram along with his team established a check post on the Airport Road. The team intercepted a truck coming from Azad Kashmir and recovered red chilli and cloth.

The officials asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the items but he failed to do the same; therefore the recovered items were seized under the customs laws.

The officials also arrested the truck driver and his helper and registered a case against them. Further investigation is underway.
