SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department Gujranwala Region auctioned various confiscated items worth Rs 115,000.
Superintendent Sajjad Rubanni told Customs Today that the department, in compliance with directives of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), holds auction of goods three times a month. He said that the goods were auctioned under the supervision of Superintendent Muhmmad Rauf Farooqi.
He told that the auction was done by the approval of Director of department Saud Imran and Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan. He said that in the confiscated items included 141 tyres Rs40,000, 21 LED’s Rs 40,000 and 159 compressor in Rs35,000 were auctioned. He told that the eight parties participated in the bid of auction while five parties gave much better bid and the departmental committee done auction which parties gave much better bid while the parties have paid one third of bid whereas the parties will liable to pay other balance amount with 15 days then the parties will get the items. He said that the department has sent summary for approval for the auction of impounded vehicles when the summary will approve the department announce auction date and will invite parties for auction with the premises of department office.
