Sialkot Customs collects Rs 25.88b during fiscal year 205-16

SIALKOT: The Sialkot Customs Collectorate has not only achieved its revenue collection target set by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) but also surpassed it as it collected Rs 25.880 billion against target of Rs 21 .796 billion during fiscal year 2015-16.

Official sources told Custom Today that the Sialkot Customs staff worked hard to achieve the target and it is a fruitful result of their tireless efforts. Sources said that the efforts of staff were really much appreciable and target under the head of customs duty was exceeded in all four quarters of the outgoing fiscal year.

As per the details, annual net target of Rs 4,320.51 million under the head of customs duty whereas the collectorate raised Rs 11,203.13 million showing 16 percent increase. Sources told the sales tax and federal excise duty collections showed some shortfalls, advance income tax collections registered a substantial collection of Rs 6,636.47 million, representing an excess of 43.04 percent over the assigned target. Sources told that the Customs Colletorate over all collected Rs 25.880 million against the assigned target of Rs 21.796 million registering 7.07 percent increase. Sources told that Sialkot Customs will not only sustain its performance but also contribute more revenue in national kitty during new fiscal year 2016-17.

It is pertinent to mention here mention here during last year of outgoing fiscal year Customs Collectorate collected Rs 22.192 billion against the previous year’s collection of Rs 18.026 billion. The custom showed 15.52 percent growth during over the last year. Customs Collector Ahmed Reza Khan has hailed the performance and hard work of Customs staff for achieving of target. He demanded the FBR and customs authorities should announce for reward in cash for staff who have achieved target.
