Sialkot Customs collects Rs 4.6m in November

SIALKOT: The Model Customs Collectorate, Sialkot, has collected Rs 4.60 million under the head of customs duty in November of current fiscal year 2016-17.

Sources told Customs Today that the department has surpassed the revenue collection target under the head of customs duty whereas it collected Rs2.86 million during the corresponding period of the last year.

Sources told that the Sialkot region has collected Rs 4.60 million as customs duty during November 2016 which is Rs 1.74 million more than the assigned target while during the same period fiscal year 2015 Sialkot Customs collected Rs 1.33 million.

Sources added that the department was striving to achieve the revenue collection target under all heads for the running fiscal year 2016-17. The Federal Board 0f Revenue (FBR) has to revise the revenue collection targets sometimes keeping in view the unfavorable circumstances, adding that tax collection was increasing every year due to effective policies of the department.

The collection of said revenue is much better during first four months of current fiscal year. Sources told that the staff is doing work to achieve target and they will surpass target assigned by the FBR before the ending of current fiscal year 2016-17.
