Sialkot Customs facilitates exports worth Rs 1.99b in Sept, Oct

SIALKOT: The Model Customs Collectorate facilitated the export of goods worth Rs 1.997 billion through Sialkot Dry Port Trust (SDPT) during September and October of current fiscal year 2016-17.

The export of major items is increasing every month due to their increasing demand in other countries of the world. The data available to the Customs Today showed that the value of goods exported during July and August 2016 stood at Rs 1970.66 million as compare to Rs 1997.25 million of September and October 2016.

The items exported through the SDPT were sports goods, leather garments, surgical instruments, musical instruments, gloves, karate suits, track suits, etc.

The sports goods, surgical instruments and leather garments were remained major export items with a value of Rs 1433.89 million during the said period. Leather garments worth Rs 266.073 million, gloves made of leather and traditional leather worth Rs 188.48 million, musical Instruments valued at Rs 44.30 million and other export items worth Rs 18 million were exported during the said period.
