SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 40,000 liters of Iranian diesel and petrol, and 400 drums of smuggled motor oil worth Rs 25 million, besides arresting one accused in two different operation.
The Customs Intelligence conducted raids following credible information received through Director General Intelligence Imitaz Ahmed Khan, to curb the smuggling.
Following the tip-off, the official conducted operation and raided a godown and recovered 118 drums filled with smuggled diesel and petrol. The officials asked the accused person, Malik Nawaz to produce the documents showing legal import of the items but he remained failed.
Therefore, the customs officials confiscated the drums and arrested the accused persons.
In another raid, the Customs Intelligence has seized 400 drum of Iranian motor oil when it raided a godown near Alipur Chatah. The total value of the confiscated items has been estimated at Rs 25 million.
